As part of our continued growth, the opportunity has arisen for a M&E Assistant based in Edinburgh. To support the site lead engineer and engineering team who are responsible for building maintenance operation and local client relationships. This role will give support to that team by carrying out maintenance and repair activities, dealing with immediate building issues plus a variety of additional requests to ensure smooth service delivery within the building operational environment.

Key Accountabilities:

Purpose – To support the lead engineer in the delivery of services

  • Ensure that we meet our statutory maintenance obligations and deliver the contract scope
  • Develop strong relationships with all stakeholders and be responsive to their requests for help and support
  • Ensure that we are working within agreed times and planned works
  • Ensure that any client requests regarding service delivery are escalated to the lead engineer in a timely manner with corrective actions closed out quickly
  • Maintain building fabric as required maintaining a regular dialogue with engineering team
  • Use CAFM system daily and familiarise with closing, updating PPM & reactive tasks
  • Provide support closing PPM and reactive tasks within SLA
  • Resolve building system issues quickly, by means of raised jobs and supplier input as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with the lead engineer to resolve escalation issues quickly, by taking ownership of jobs where loss of trade or critical asset failure has occurred until satisfactory completion keeping Client informed
  • Participate in out of hours on call rota (once familiar with building and process)
  • Assist in maintenance activities as directed by lead engineer
  • Assist lead engineer in compiling and gathering the necessary data and information required for monthly performance reports
  • Liaise with subcontractors to ensure the effective delivery of the service on site works
  • Ensure subcontractors enter / exit site correctly and ensure housekeeping standards are maintained during works
  • Schedule external suppliers to attend before “target date” to ensure compliance with SLA
  • Ensure we promote a culture of compliance and escalate issues and areas of concern
  • Promote the ‘Bellrock’ culture within the business


Qualifications/Training Required:


  • Technical awareness
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • IT literate basic computer knowledge


  • Facilities Management Experience
  • Basic site safety experience

Experience Required:


  • Facilities Management / construction
  • Adherence to processes and procedures
  • Understanding how to manage client relationships
  • Experience with power tools
  • Experience working at height


  • Technical M&E understanding
  • Engineering statutory compliance understanding
  • Be accepting of training and upskilling

In return Bellrock are offering a competitive salary. Working hours are Monday – Friday based on 37.5 hours per week and 25 days holiday per year + bank holidays.
