Operating in the corporate, healthcare, education, retail & leisure and local authority & central government sectors, we create and implement bespoke solutions to improve the performance and value derived from non-core activity.

The opportunity has arisen for a Software Developer based in Leicester. The key purpose of this role is to help provide the foundation upon which the smooth delivery of our services depends. To help build both in-house and externally facing tools on a variety of platforms from the browser to mobile apps to embedded systems. This will be achieved by listening to key stakeholders, understanding the business processes underpinning our platform and using your creativity to solve intricate problems within the wider context of the software team and the technology roadmap.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with key stakeholders in the business to understand and document their challenges and needs
  • Design and deploy software solutions to deliver change throughout the business
  • Work within and help to improve patterns, practices, and approaches to software development within the business
  • Produce appropriate documentation covering all aspects of the software development lifecycle – from inception to requirements to support documentation
  • Maintain existing systems and fix technical issues which arise
  • Work closely with other members of the software team, project managers, analysts and key stakeholders to ensure software systems are fit for purpose from a design, implementation and deployment perspective
  • Design and implement new software solutions to support evolving business processes
  • Ensure you keep up to date with pertinent new technologies, ideas and approaches related to your duties

Competencies, Core Qualities and Attributes:

  • A computing-related degree level qualification
  • Strong knowledge of C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core and associated technologies such as Entity Framework, ASP.NET, WebAPI
  • Experience developing web applications across a variety of technologies including ASP.NET WebForms, MVC and client-side frameworks
  • Proficiency in working with version control systems – ideally Git
  • Competency in designing and making use of relational databases
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work to agreed process, coding and documentation quality standards
  • Experience working in a fast-paced constantly evolving environment delivering software using an agile-style methodology
  • Ability and desire to learn about and embrace new technologies and patterns
  • Diligence and attention to detail
  • Exposure to any of the following patterns or technologies is desirable: Dependency Injection (Autofac), Xamarin, Vue.js, Bootstrap, CI (TeamCity), Rabbi MQ, Elm, Progressive Web Apps, Octopus Deploy
In return Bellrock are offering a competitive salary. Working hours are Monday – Friday based on 37.5 hours per week and 25 days holiday per year + bank holidays.
