Welcome to the first edition of the new Service Charge Operating Report (SCOR) for Retail Parks.

Our first edition focuses on assessing whether year-end service charge accounting documents prepared at 50 of the UK top 100 retail parks comply with the increased presentation and disclosure requirements of the RICS Professional Statement, Service Charges in Commercial Property (RICS, 2018).

Academic oversight for SCOR for Retail Parks is provided by Professor Andrew Holt, Department of Accounting,  Metropolitan State University of Denver, and we hope that you find this new publication useful for assessing the current levels of accounting presentation, transparency, and disclosure within the service charge documents prepared for UK retail parks.
